Rotherham Childrens’ Festival

 

A celebration of all the successes of Rotherham’s children and young people.  An annual event which includes many events including the exhibition of work from the Picture This! project, our Shakespeare Festival, Literacy, Maths, sports activities, dance, singing, music and our very own ROSCARS (Rotherham Oscars!).

Open Minds Theatre Company

 

Open Minds Theatre Company works in the community to assist in the developing and equipping of people to lead effective and fulfilled lives by improving their confidence, self-esteem, understanding of others and themselves, communication skills and self-discipline through their exposure to and involvement in the arts.

 We work with different groups of disadvantaged people in the community and we are committed to using performance drama and other art forms as a means of opening peoples’ minds and combating bigotry and prejudice.

Rotherham College

 

We offer training and education to all levels of student from Entry Level through to Foundation degree at Level 5 in Music, Performing Arts, Musical Theatre, Media,Radio, Art and design, Graphics, Photography and Fashion . We are the Roland Academy for the north of England and offer professional studios spaces, training, musicians and equipment for hire and training purposes as well as offering full time and part time programmes of study. We have state of the art facilities and can offer CPD opportunities to the professional world.

Yamsen 

 

YAMSEN, the Yorkshire Association for Music and Special Educational Needs, is an association dedicated to providing and promoting high quality musical activities and tuition for adults and children with a wide range of special needs. As its members, we recognise the unique contribution that music plays in people’s lives, especially in the lives of those with difficulties and disabilities.

We are experienced in providing a wide range of access opportunities and training and can organise short term musical projects as well as on-going regular tuition for groups/classes/individuals including music technology. We can provide special days for pupils including multi-sensory days and initiate or help develop singing and percussion activities.

We are able to offer workshops and training for anyone working with those who have special needs. Recent workshops have included “Rock around the Glock” –using tuned percussion and “Plugs and Leads for Special Needs” which focussed on music technology, software and soundbeam.

Beats Workin' Drum School

​

Beats Workin' is a professional drum tuition provider catering for all levels of drummers, We are registered with Vic Firth as private drum teachers and keep up to date with modern teaching methods. So whether you are a complete beginner and have never picked up a pair of sticks, or you are wanting to get through your Rockschool grades or beyond we can help.

Beats Workin provides tuition to children and adults from absolute beginners to advanced players. We offer Rockschool grades debut to grade 8, and we have a 100% pass rate! We have undergone lots of training and spent countless hours finding out what works when it comes to learning how to play the drums and as a result we have developed a series of guides to supplement your lessons.

Beats Workin offers its students a full live experience, you can play along to your favorite band with full

P. A. Backing to give you that head start and to build confidence before that big gig! We provide everything you need to progress; two full sized drum kits(one for you, and one for us) full P.A. Backing, sticks, and metronome, we also sell skins sticks and various drum accessories, and big discounts on all drums!! We also offer refreshments and toilets, a waiting area and free parking.

Rotherham Rock Choir

 

Your local Rock Choir is run by Choir Leader Kate Threlfall. The Rock choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings 8-9.30pm at Herringthorpe United Reformed Church, Wickersley Road, Rotherham, S60 4JN.
