South Yorkshire young musicians join forces for Music For Youth
Young musicians from Rotherham are busy preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime performance at London's Royal Albert Hall.
The 12-minute performance slot will be part of the 'Music for Youth' proms. 200 musicians and 300 young singers from Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley and Doncaster will perform en masse on Monday 13th November. The ensemble will perform a specially written piece by Chris Noble called 'Jazz Journeys', which will be lead by local Jazz musician Dennis Rollins.
Last Sunday saw the musicians gather at Barnsley's Civic Assembly Room for its first large scale rehearsal, with great progress made in a relatively short period of time.
