One of the world’s most loved authors is set to have three of their stories brought to life by the children of Rotherham, via the medium of music.
Three of Roald Dahl’s works will be performed by over 500 school children, who have created their own music and words to tell the famous tales. Months of hard work by 13 local schools - alongside Rotherham Music - will culminate at the Magna Science & Adventure between the 11th and the 14th of December.
The series of daytime performances are open to the public, and will feature the Rotherham Advertiser’s Charlie Graves as the narrator. The children will be performing on a professionally designed stage set, and will be backed by a professional 12-piece band.
The young performers have created their own musical versions of The Twits, George’s Marvellous Medicine, and Danny, Champion of the World.
Tickets for the performances can be purchased via the Rotherham Music website www.rotherhammusic.co.uk/tickets
