The Rotherham Music Awards is new event that ran for the first time in Summer 2018. The awards recognise the musical talent that we have in our town, as well as those who work tirelessly to support the development of musicians and those who create opportunities for performers. The awards are intended to bring together people from all genres of music in order to collectively celebrate the contributions and achievements that Rotherham should rightly be proud of.
In its first year, the awards attracted nearly 100 entries, with 40 of those subsequently shortlisted for the final. The process culminated with an awards dinner and ceremony at the Magna Science & Adventure Centre that revealed the first ever recipients of a Rotherham Music Award.
We would like to thank all of our sponsors for supporting the event. It is simply not possible to deliver and awards event of this nature without the financial support of these companies and individuals, so we are hugely grateful for their commitment to the event.
